The History Of Le Bleu

Le Bleu Corporation was formed in 1990 by Jerry W. Smith. Mr. Smith, President and CEO of Le Bleu Corporation, had the foresight to realize the potential of what is today's bottled water industry. His over thirty years of experience in water treatments and a Certified Water Specialist CWS-V certification by the National Water Quality Association provided the background from which Mr. Smith would develop numerous patents and Le Bleu's patent-pending purification process.

The company's first product was a 10-oz. glass bottle. The product was praised for its purity, taste and label design. As bottled water continued to develop in the early 1990's, Le Bleu introduced PET packages in 20-oz., 1 liter and 1.5-liter sizes. As the distribution network was established, product availability increased and sales rose rapidly.

Le Bleu has since been growing by leaps and bounds in the beverage industry, introducing a number of new Le Bleu Products to the marketplace.

In the fourth quarter of 2000, Le Bleu introduced a 12-oz. bottle in a 12 and 24 pack case. The 12-oz. is ideal for school children to take to lunch or just to carry with you when you are on the go. This product can now be found in major grocery chains, sporting arenas, elementary schools and vending machines.

Le Bleu's core competency is the production of high purity water. The company began researching applicable product segments that could utilize high purity water as the basis for new beverage products. Sales of fruit flavored drinks increased over 15% in 1999. Le Bleu Fruté, a fruit flavored drink made only with purified water, made its debut in grape, orange, fruit punch and kiwi-strawberry flavors in February of 2001. In only a short time, the product made its mark with authorizations in the convenience stores and grocery stores, and with continuing case sale increases to the residential market.

Le Bleu's five-gallon division was established in 1996 as the demand for Le Bleu's product moved beyond the convenience stores and grocery chains points of availability. Le Bleu Corporation's facility in Advance, North Carolina supplies five-gallon bottled water through 12 branches located throughout North and South Carolina.

Many five-gallon residential customers have been enjoying pure and refreshing Le Bleu Bottled Water from their five-gallon water cooler for a number of years. Le Bleu introduced the second phase of its residential service in the second quarter of 2001. The Le Bleu Automatic Ultra Pure Bottled Water System provides Le Bleu water throughout the home through secondary faucets, ice-makers and refrigerator water dispensers. The system can be pre-plumbed into new homes or installed into most existing homes. It only takes ten minutes a month to fill your homes system's 50-gallon tank with Le Bleu five-gallon bottled water.

Le Bleu's Shower Filtration System was introduced in the third quarter of 2001, offering healthier chlorine-free showers, saving water, energy and money.

In December 2001, Le Bleu introduced a line of Gourmet Coffee, including 100% Colombian, 100% Colombian Decaf and Blue Ridge Blend. And when made with Le Bleu's Thermal Coffee Brewer, customers can enjoy the perfect cup of coffee.

Another beverage segment that has exhibited increased growth and offers substantial prospects for the use of purified water is the isotonic or sports drink category. After months of research and development to find the right taste preference and ingredients, Le Bleu ISO-ADE was introduced in the first quarter of 2002. Le Bleu ISO-ADE intimidated the market as Red Thunder (Fruit Punch), Volcanic Blast (Grape), Orange Burst and 'Lectric Lemon-Lime flavors offering consumers a great tasting sports drink at substantially lower prices than other name brand competitors. Le Bleu ISO-ADE is set to take its place as the "Thirst Intimidator".

In October 2002, Le Bleu included all natural PURE SOAPS to its line of products. Le Bleu Pure Soaps contain no harsh chemicals, are biodegradable, made with purified water and concentrated to last longer and save money. Le Bleu Pure Soaps are environmentally friendly and are not tested on animals.

In September 2005, Le Bleu began distribution of Nature's Pearl Muscadine Grape Seed. Nature's Pearl is a dietary supplement that is 100% pure and natural Muscadine grape seed in capsule form. Nature's Pearl Muscadine Grape Seed is nature's number one source of antioxidants and contains a wide array of health benefits. Nature's Pearl Muscadine Grape Seed has been found to contain anti-inflammatory properties, and promotes healthy cholesterol levels by protecting LDL (bad) cholesterol from free radicals and improving HDL (good) cholesterol.
